It has been observed that on the borders of the States an important body which is the police in an hour of need to keep on raising the dispute on territorial jurisdiction.

How far is this justified?

such incidents took place on Haryana & Punjab border.

1. The gunda’s molested ladies and seriously bothered and harrassed the general on the road no police protection could be obtained under the government of the jurisdiction.

2. On another incident when a gentleman has a small accident by the mistakes of ruffians so they stopped the car and harrassed the couple traveling in the car and demanded a hefty amount of money when they tried to contact police, the police kept on transferring the problem among each other (Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh).

As the incident occurred at the Border near Panchkula so there should have been the centralized number that people can dial in the hour of need to contact the police & immediate help/protection should be provided without raising any dispute on territorial jurisdiction.
